Mark 5:36-43
36 Overhearing[a] what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” 37 He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. 38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” 40 But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). 42 Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. 43 He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

Spending Time with God/Communion
Every expression of God’s Kingdom starts with communing with the Father. He is the source of life and only He has the ability to prompt you to move and empower you in the supernatural. Jesus was empowered with the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:38) and we must spend time with the Father in communion if we are to hear and know his heart.

Why Mary is commended by Jesus
(Luke 10:38-42) This is why it’s so important to be a Mary over a Martha. Mary was poised for revelatory and thus supernatural works because of her position. Martha on the other hand was poised for only natural works.

Acts 4:13
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

Jesus would get up very early and go to a solitary place to pray. I believe during this time, According to Hebrews 5:7, “[Jesus] offered up definite, special petitions [for that which He not only wanted [a]but needed]

From this base of communion with the Heavenly Father all other operations were flowing. While praying and studying God’s word, we train ourselves to recognize God’s voice so when he speaks again we don’t wonder if that’s him but we are trained to the frequency of heaven, having courage to step out into what seems irrational.

Revelation - Apokalupto
  1. to uncover, lay open what has been veiled or covered up disclose, make bare
  2. to make known, make manifest, disclose what before was unknown
  3.
The Rock of Revelation

Jesus is the Christ

Luke 2:28-32
28Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: 29“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss[d] your servant in peace. 30For my eyes have seen your salvation, 31which you have prepared in the sight of all people, 32a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.”

Jesus, Fully God and Fully Man

The revelation God gives you will often seem irrational to others or even yourself. This is a big test  and many fall away here.
  • Are you really hearing the Lord?
  • Am I crazy?
  • What will people think?
  • What if God doesn’t do what I think he’s telling me he’s going to do?
One of the biggest problems with moving out beyond revelation and getting to declaration is having a greater fear or respect for God than you do man. All this can be dealt with through communing with God.

Fear of the Lord
It can be taught and thus caught

Psalm 34:11
Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD .

Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools [ The Hebrew words rendered fool in Proverbs, and often elsewhere in the Old Testament, denote one who is morally deficient. ] despise wisdom and discipline.

Sin in the life of the believer will “clog” the communication lines between God and you. Sometimes this will make us want to hide in a Martha ministry; working but not wanting to give up sin, maybe even using the good works to justify the wrong position of our hearts.

Psalm 66:18
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;

I believe this is one of the primary reasons God hates sin and Jesus told many to stop sinning. God wants a relationship and a clear line of communication with you so he can move you to do his will, even his supernatural will. Everything to God is natural. We are the one’s who separate the natural from the supernatural.

Revelation is a Key to Heaven

Peter's Confession of Christ

Matthew 16:13-20
13When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”    14They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”    15“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ,[b] the Son of the living God.”    17Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18And I tell you that you are Peter,[c] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[d] will not overcome it.[e] 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[f] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[g] loosed in heaven.” 20Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.

Being able to clearly hear God’s voice is the foundation upon which all other kingdom activity must be built. If we are to be a church of power and relevance in a society of humanistic sin, tolerant, and lost people, we must be able to hear God’s voice.

Verbalization

Matthew 17: 19–20
19Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn't we drive it out?”    20He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

So we flow from communion to revelation to verbalization to manifestation.

Have you ever heard a referee say, “I call it like I see it?” I have. In life we have two concurrent realities going on. We have the circumstantial realities that most people can see, but then we also have heavenly realities that many don’t seem to see.

I believe these last three steps, revelation, verbalization, and manifestation, can happen all together in seconds.

God spoke to Jesus and told him by revelation that the Girl was not dead, she was asleep. A very irrational reality from the perspective of all the mourners. So irrational that they laughed at him. He sends them out perhaps because their thoughts, ideas, and feelings about the situation are affecting him.

But Jesus verbalized the revelation even though I’m sure his natural mind knew it was irrational. However, he heard the voice of the Father, which trumps rational thought. Jesus is not running his “own program”

John 5:19
Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.

The girl is raised from the dead when he tells her “Little Girl, I say to you, ‘Get Up!’” At the moment when heaven and earth intersect there is no communal prayer time. That has already happened earlier. There is not one single example of communal prayer in the New Testament that brings about a healing at the intersection of heaven and earth.

I’m 100% for prayer. I believe it’s foundational for us to know and recognize the voice and will of God. However, once this is known we should be declaring His plan and will over situations if we want to see the manifestation of Heaven. Not simply lip service but revelatory release. So many in the Body of Christ are not doing this but many are awakening to the supernatural components of the Christian life.

Conclusion:
  • Communion
  • Revelation
  • Declaration
  • Manifestation
  • Duplication
Duplication
Jesus invites three men to be with him during this process. These three men will catch what is going on here to such an effective level they begin to do what Jesus did.

Acts 3:3-7
3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.

Daniel 2:44
God’s Kingdom will Fill the Whole Earth

Daniel 2:35b But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.

Earthly Kingdoms of Men
Golden Head - the Babylonians
Silver Chest and Arms the – Medo-Persians
Bronze thighs and belly - the Grecians
Iron legs - the Romans
Some civilization that occurs after the Roman Empire.

God’s Kingdom
Daniel 2:44
"In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.

Chaff
On the roads in South India, threshing rice. Some wind is necessary for the chaff to blow away.

Daniel 2:35a Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace.

All the kingdoms of men are going to be destroyed and will come to nothing. The kingdom of God will however continue and will eventually take over the entire Earth.

Understanding this reality will cause a person to evaluate their priorities and place the majority of their time energy and effort into spending time with the Lord, sharing their faith, winning souls, helping the needy, loving their family, loving the unlovable, etc. in an effort to express the Kingdom of God.

There aren’t any hearses with trailer hitches.

The Davidic Covenant

2 Samuel 7:12-16
12"When your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom. 13"He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14"I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men, 15but My lovingkindness shall not depart from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 16"Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever."'"

Jesus is the Rightful Heir of the Davidic Covenant

Luke 1:31-33
31You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."

Studying the genealogies of Jesus Christ we find that Mary is in the blood line of David making Jesus a literal descendent of David.

The Rock is The Kingdom of Jesus Christ
The subjects of Christ’s Kingdom are people who have the law of God written on their heart. People who are saved and redeemed from the world and Satan. People who walk in obedience to the word and voice of God.

I believe the Kingdom of God is here and now and the subjects of the Kingdom are you and I
Luke 17:21 nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."

I don’t believe we’ve become all that God’s destined us for yet however.

Ephesians 4:13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

The whole measure of the fullness of Christ
  1. Kingdom Expression
    1. Holy Spirit Manifestations
    2. Character

I believe that before Jesus comes back there will be an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that empowers believers just like you and I to imitate the ministry of Jesus in the way described in Ephesians 4:13

Jesus is Coming Back for a Glorious Church
Ephesians 5:27 and to present her (the church) to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

The Rock Not Made with Hands
Acts 17:24 " The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands;

The law was also not made with hands. God wrote the law on the tablets in Exodus 34
He dwells in us.
I’m not sitting around waiting for Jesus to come back. I believe we, as a church are supposed to be radiant, glorious, powerful and effective at transforming our culture to the culture of the Kingdom of God one heart at a time.

Ever Increasing Glory
2 Corinthians 3:18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Jesus Describing the Kingdom of God
Mark 4:30-32
30Again he said, "What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest seed you plant in the ground. 32Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds of the air can perch in its shade."

Fire is the symbol of the Glory of God
  1. Tabernacle
  2. Temple
  3. People
1.  Tabernacle
Exodus 40:34-38
34 Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled upon it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.  36 In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; 37 but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted. 38 So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel during all their travels.

2.  Temple
2 Chronicles 7:1 When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.

3.  People
Acts 2:3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

We Need God’s Glory
I don’t want to miss the time of God’s visitation. (Luke 19:44) I don’t want to have my head down or focused on something else and miss the wave of his spirit.
Let’s pray for a fresh out pouring of the Holy Spirit in our lives for personal holiness, and boldness.

Be Thankful for the Unshakable Kingdom

Hebrews 12:28
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,

1.  We are receiving a Kingdom that cannot be shaken!

54 of 65 references to the “Kingdom of God” refer to a present or relative to our time, past kingdom. 11 times when the term Kingdom of God is used in the New Testament it’s referring to a future or coming kingdom.

The Internal Kingdom of God
Where did Jesus tell us the kingdom of God would be?
Luke 17:20,21
20Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, 21nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."

Expressions of the Kingdom of God
A. Power
1 Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

B. Deliverance
Matthew 12:28 But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Matthew 17:14-21
The Healing of a Boy With a Demon
14When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. 15"Lord, have mercy on my son," he said. "He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water.  16I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him."  17"O unbelieving and perverse generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me." 18Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.  19Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" 20He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.“ 21 But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.

C. Healing
Luke 9:2 and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Matthew 4:23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

D. Preaching
Luke 4:43 But he said, "I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent."
Mark 16:20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
Acts 14:3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders.

E. An expanded home and family after sacrifice
Luke 18:29,30
29"I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life.“

Whatever we give up for the Lord he will return to us expanded.
Luke 6:38
38Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

F. Fruit Production
Matthew 21:43 "Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.

2 Types of Fruit

 1.  Internal Fruit – When the internal fruit is in place, via abiding in the presence of Jesus, the external fruit will manifest.  The internal fruits of God's spirit abiding in a person are
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-Control

 2.  External Fruit
Converts, Disciples, Kingdom Influence, Fruit Bearing followers.

2. Be Thankful
Thankfulness illustrates a person’s appreciation for someone else’s work or something else someone has done. This appreciation equates to understanding the sacrifice that was made, the skill possessed or the dedication of another and can equate to like behavior from the thankful party.
People who have an, “I deserve it” mentality usually never figure out how to provide for themselves what is being given to them as a gift.

Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

The Ten Lepers - A Story about Thankfulness

Luke 17:11-19
11Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!"  14When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.  15One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. 17Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" 19Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."

Your Faith has made you well.
His faith had added to it another grace, that of love. His faith had not only saved his body, but he had been born to the new life, his soul was saved.
This passage states the fact that Jesus offers this leper more than the other nine. They all received physical healing, but this Samaritan receives a deeper salvation in addition. His faith prompted by revelation knowledge drives him to return to the feet of Jesus in thanks, and that personal contact, that personal submission signifies a soul healing that is more than skin deep.  Jesus tells him he's sozo.

3. Worship God with Reverence and Awe

Reverence – profound adoring awed respect with caution. Included in the Greek word eulabeia are the concepts of fear, fearful, fearfulness.

Awe - an emotion variously combining dread, veneration, and wonder that is inspired by authority or by the sacred or sublime with a modesty which is rooted in the character.

Reverence and Awe come as a result of revelation knowledge.
When we know who Jesus is and who we are, we have to feel reverence and awe!

The Kind of worshipers the Father is seeking.
John 4:23,24
23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

Spirit of faith - believing that God is who he says he is and he’s worthy of our time and focus.
Truth - understanding predominantly who He is and to a much lesser degree who we are. We walk in the truth as we worship.

In conclusion
  1. We are receiving an unshakable kingdom.
  2. We should be thankful.
  3. We should worship with reverence and awe.
Lord, help us to see what you’ve prepared for us in your kingdom. Give us the faith and grace we need to become the people of thankfulness you’ve called us to become. Reveal yourself to us in such a way that causes awe and reverence to rise up in our hearts.

Pray Like Jesus

Luke 5:16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

Some Scriptures on Prayer

Matthew 5:44
But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Matthew 6:5-8
5"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.  7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Matthew 6:9-13
9"This, then, is how you should pray: " 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,  10your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  11Give us today our daily bread.  12Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'

Points to consider in light of the above scriptures
  1. Pray for those who persecute you
  2. Hypocrites pray to be noticed by men.
    1. There is nothing wrong with public prayer as long as you are praying for an audience of One
    2. Don't show off.
  3. Pray to your Father who is unseen and he will reward you.
    1. Luke 12:3 What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.
  4. Prayer is more about quality than quantity. Pray like God already knows what you are going to say before you say it. (because He does) Pagans pray with many words.
  5. Recognize God for who He is.  When we pray it’s good to address and recognize the Father like nature and heart of God.  God is a good and loving Father.
  6. Give him adoration for who he is Holy, consecrated, unique, wonderful, sacred and revered.
  7. God’s kingdom to be established
    1. The rule and reign of Jesus Christ in the hearts of men, women youth and children.
    2. Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
  8. God’s will to be established
    1. The same way on the Earth as it is in Heaven
    2. Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."  In Heaven there is...
      1. No sickness or pain. Rev. 21:4
      2. No sorrow, or crying, or mourning. Rev 7:17 Rev. 21:4
      3. No violence or wars, but only perfect peace and rest. Job 3:17 2 Thess. 1:7
      4. No more death. Luke 20:36 Rev. 21:4
      5. No more hunger or thirst. Rev 7:16-17
  9. Take care of our natural needs.
    1. God knows what we need and is a good Father.
    2. He can provide for us and give us daily sustenance.
  10. Forgive our debts and release those who owe us.
    1. It’s important that we treat others the way we want to be treated.
    2. We should be merciful because the same measure of mercy we extend to others will be extended to us by God.
      1. Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
      2. James 2:13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!
  11. Help us avoid temptation.  Don’t put yourself into situations where you are going to be tempted.
    1. Temptation is from the Devil
      1. Overcoming temptation - no growth
    2. Tests come from the Lord
      1. Overcoming a Test - Promotion
    3. Mark 14:38 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
    4. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
  12. Deliver us from the Devil
    1. We need protection from the outside as well as possible renovation on the inside.
    2. The devil can have access to people via legal and illegal entry points.
Let’s pray like Jesus prayed. If we can pray like Jesus prayed we’ll live more and more like Jesus did doing the things he did and even greater things because He is now with our Heavenly Father.
